National Account Manager – Retail – World Foods

Our client is a well-established and recognised brand operating within the ethnic snacks market.  With a continued focus on value for money, product innovation and enhancement, this family owned business are committed to long term and sustained relationships with their customers and suppliers. With growth plans and the imminent opening of a new factory, they now have a requirement for a National Account Manager to join their business, managing the world food categories within key national retail accounts.

As National Account Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing annual business plans for the agreed national account retailers across the world food category. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Top 6 grocery customers, maximising new business opportunities and devising strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Negotiating annual Joint Business Plans (JBPs) across the world foods categories within key grocery accounts
  • Driving distribution of existing and new products
  • Managing the product mix to maximise margin on business
  • Negotiating on all elements of cost pricing, terms and promotions within the company guidelines
  • Delivering on agreed price increases
  • Managing effective communication with all key grocery customers
  • Communicating competitor and market activity into the organisation
  • Taking ownership of the volume & financial forecasting

Requirements:

The role requires at least 2 years National Account Management experience, working within a fast paced FMCG environment. You must have had full P&L responsibility for a top 6 retail account to be considered for this role. In addition it is preferable that you have worked within a branded ambient food environment, and it is preferable that you have experience working within the world food categories.

Candidates must have the capability and understanding of:

  • Sales vs forecast on daily basis and understanding performance
  • Customer profit, promotional strategy and trade spend
  • Relationship building
  • Planning and forecasting
  • Analytical skills
  • Conversant with all Microsoft Office programmes for pricing models, planning, tracking, forecasting and preparing presentations
