Job Details

Our client is currently looking for an ambitious, passionate and highly motivated Retail Brand Manager. This is a very commercially driven role looking after a portfolio of two key brands and also managing one key partner relationship UK wide. You will need to be comfortable across Brand, Insights, Trade, Comms, NPD and you will need to be able to think strategically but be quite hands on. 

 

 

THE COMPANY 

 

My client is very commercially driven, successful, global brand in food. My client has an extensive portfolio of local, international and bespoke food brands and coverage circa 600 travel locations worldwide.   

 

 

THE ROLE 

 

Some of the key responsibilities include:  

  • Generate 12 month Brand Plan which addresses brand growth, awareness and business objectives
  • Deliver all brand specific briefs as appropriate to the Trading, Marcomms & Customer & Food Development teams, track status and ensure delivery on time and budget
  • Develop regular range review programme based on commercial mix, customer and operational feedback & analysis to drive decisions on range effectiveness to achieve increased sales & profit per unit
  • Working with the Trading team, maintain recipes to achieve budgeted theoreticals, working with key stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Using a price optimisation approach, competitive and contractual benchmarks recommend brand pricing activity to the Head of Category to drive brand specific profitability
  • Working with Trading team and relevant stakeholders ensure the brand personality is fully represented in the brand design packages (eg: construction manuals)
  • Ensure Brand Audit forms and mystery customer briefing sheets reflect up to date brand standards
  • Develop and monitor an agreed set of brand KPIs on a weekly basis that can be used at all levels within the organisation to drive sales and profitability and manage revex costs to budgets
  • Regularly review (at least quarterly) the progress of the brand against brand plan to ensure on target and make changes as appropriate
  • Monitor competitor activity (new products, promotions & pricing) on a monthly basis and highlight any opportunities to the Head of Category
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and mystery shopper trends
  • Monitor site performance through structured site visits, recognising opportunities and recommending appropriate action plans to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with and support operations teams to maximise sales and profit opportunities by meeting brand standards and customer expectations
  • Liaise with Trading and logistics departments to ensure availability of products and maintenance of stock levels at site and central distribution to agreed targets.

THE PERSON 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Brand Management / Brand Marketing experience preferred
  • Previous experience within a retail / food marketing
  • Experience in multi brand environment (own and franchise brands) preferred
  • Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and brand and category management systems.
  • Knowledge of strategy deployment and the development of customer communications
  • Ability to positively influence colleagues, managing subjective issues with sensitivity
  • Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks with good prioritization skills
  • Proven track record in delivery of sales, profit and margin and all relevant commercial and brand marketing KPI’s
