Our client is a leading supplier of private label coffee to a number of the Top 6 retailers and multiples with a strong emphasis on quality and added value. Having grown their business from £5m turnover to c. £80m in the UK in the last 10 years the business is growing rapidly and gaining new supplier contracts with premium retailers. This is an entrepreneurial fast paced business working with an interesting and emotive product that is gaining higher and higher popularity in the UK.

Role

Due to growth, an exciting role within category management has arisen within the business to work alongside the Senior Category Manager to help develop and manage a specific retail account. Having a wealth of experience in this category the Senior Category Manager is looking to find either a Category Executive or a keen individual with experience in FMCG who is seeking a career within Category that they can train and develop on the job.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting quarterly Category Reviews
• Working closely with Sales and Marketing to develop new products
• Analysing Nielsen/Kantar data to provide regular insights on opportunities within retail, spotting trends and gaps in the market
• Completing primary research in order to understand consumer behaviour and tastes
• Liaising closely with retailers to understand their needs in order to drive category growth
• Building relationships with key contacts

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have experience in an FMCG environment with drive to start a career within Category Management.

You will need to be analytical and decisive, with an ability to communicate effectively with senior management in order to present your ideas effectively.

This is an excellent opportunity for an intelligent and keen marketeer with minimal experience to take the first step in their career or a junior category manager who is looking for more commercial input and autonomy working with a premium retailer.
