Role outline:

Manage existing SME and corporate partnership fundraising relationships; identify opportunities for, and initiate, new relationships with organisations and their stakeholders in line with the charity’s objectives.

Responsibilities

Planning & Monitoring:

  • Work with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to maintain and implement a regularly updated strategic plan for SME and corporate partnerships.
  • Monitor income targets and expenditure budgets and keep line manager informed on progress against them.
  • Contribute to the production, development, delivery, implementation, and monitoring of the Corporate Partnerships annual plans and strategy.

Account manage specific existing relationships:

  • Manage a portfolio of SME and corporate relationships, maintaining appropriate contact with existing partners in line with account plan.
  • Raise an agreed level of net income from SME and corporate partners each year.
  • Ensure timely delivery of progress reports and updates to existing partners.
  • Identify, and capitalise on, opportunities to increase income and/or the Trust’s supporter base from SME and corporate relationships.
  • Ensure that records for these partners are recorded accurately on the fundraising database.

Develop new funding partner relationships for the Trussell Trust:

  • Raise an agreed level of net income from new partners each year.
  • Work with existing networks and contacts to identify and approach potential new SME and corporate partners, and develop relationships with clear, achievable objectives with key decision makers.
  • Develop and implement creative and compelling cases for support in order to secure new partners.
  • Present oral or written proposals, alone or in conjunction with colleagues, to potential SME and corporate partners.

Managing growth and developing fundraising products:

  • Assist with the identification and development of products to take advantage of opportunities to increase income from existing and prospective SME and corporate partners.  For example: campaigns, events, specific publications, communications, etc.
  • Attract new corporate partners and manage growth through a range of direct and indirect means, including face-to-face relationship building, telephone and IT campaigns, presentations, and networking events.
  • Identify and meet with potential SME and corporate donors and explain the work of the Trussell Trust.

 

Together with any other reasonable duties as specified by the Corporate Partnerships Manager to support the work of the Trust.

  • Requirements: key skills

  • Familiarity with the charity fundraising environment
  • Understanding of the various ways in which organisations can support a charity
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support other team members
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent pitching-for-business or case-for-support presentation skills
  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills – including the ability and confidence to network, persuade, and negotiate effectively
  • Ability to devise creative solutions to strengthen or develop relationships
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Well-developed time management skills, including flexibility within a variable workload which includes tight deadlines
