The Company
This long-standing business is a front runner in the dynamic chilled convenience sector of food manufacturing, supplying the UK’s top retailers with innovative branded and own label products. This highly regarded food group are now seeking an experienced Business Account Manager to join their vibrant Commercial division.
The Role
As a key player in the commercial team you’ll be responsible for growing sales in line with company targets to achieve profit and margin aspirations, developing business plans to surpass expectations in line with agreed budgets. You’ll take ownership of two high-status retailer accounts, managing both brand and own label portfolios whilst establishing and developing long term relationships in order to drive profitable growth. Working with cross functional teams as well as customer contacts you will use your foodie commercial acumen to identify, anticipate and deliver projects in line with seasonal food and ingredient trends. With your eye on the market you’ll review the latest industry movements, producing commercial reports with emphasis on competitor and environmental activity to justify and develop proposals for promotional programmes.
In this customer focused role you’ll also utilise your strong negotiation skills to agree terms and expenditure in line with commercial strategy whilst making recommendations for pricing based on sales forecasts. In addition you’ll liaise with customers as well as internal teams including NPD, Technical and Production to review sales statistics and data, ensuring the commercial and operational feasibility of ambitious product and business plans to retain the company’s top position within the industry.
The Person
You will be an experienced Account Manager with experience of working closely with the major multiples where you have acquired a broad knowledge of the chilled convenience market. You must be an effective communicator with a strong commercial acumen and first class negotiation skills in order to achieve excellent results and exceed targets. You will be an effective communicator with amazing relationship building skills who is driven to succeed as part of a cross functional team but also able to work under their own initiative. You must also have first class presentation skills along with knowledge and experience of brand and own label account management as well as category management.
