The Business
A dominant force within its ambient food category our client is a recognised Branded and Own Label manufacturer who produces a range of ambient cupboard favorites that are recognised as some of the premium products within the category. With a turnover that is reaching £300m and new external investment to push beyond, they are looking to bring in a Category Manager to support the long term growth ambitions of the business and the function.
The Role
Covering a number of Top Tier retail accounts, your will be analysing and interpreting trends from Category, Shopper and Commercial data to identify category growth, brand and distribution opportunities and risks. You will also take the strategic lead in creating the necessary category input to, brand plans, account plans, Joint Business plans and promotional plans. You will have a key contribution to make overall Category growth. You will build on-going close relationships with key retail contacts to establish our client as the key Category Contributor (Captain/Partner/Advisor). You will also establish and champion the category agenda internally.
The Person
You must have had 3 years plus in category management, ideally having worked with a global branded or own label food manufacturing business across top four mults or premium retailers. You will have exposure to a broad range of data-sets and will also have a good understating of the consumer, shopper and their priorities. Key to your CV, will be your track record of influencing and challenging customers, whilst cultivating a relationship. You will work hard to go the extra mile for the customer and will also be known for producing ‘best-in-class’ insights. You will also be ambitious to succeed and be hungry for development.
