THE ROLE

This role will be a pivotal part of the Convenience & Emerging channels growth agenda, responsible for managing the relationship between our client and all of the major UK convenience customers. This is a significant portfolio for 2015, and this role is to ensure the achievement of the company's sales, share and profit goals.

This role takes responsibility for the direct management of the convenience team and as such, you will demonstrate well honed coaching, developing and mentoring skills balanced equally with proven leadership, strategic development and commercial planning.

A key aspect of this role will be daily interaction with other functions within the business and as such you will need to demonstrate proven success in working as part of and leading cross functional teams. You will be able to balance both  long and short term objectives with drive, ambition and enthusiasm, with a high level of technical skills such as selling, negotiating, and commercial awareness.

THE IDEAL PERSON

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong commercial FMCG background within trading food and drink products with the ability to demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of the UK grocery trade
  • Exceptional sales & negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing results through others
  • Experience of working in cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional commercial planning and acumen
  • Resilience, drive & results orientation
