The Role
As the successful Buyer / Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing of all goods across the business. You will have a sound understanding of products in order to manage stock, relationships and quality supply for the whole of the business. You will be expected to supply product for the projected forecast. You will work very closely with existing business relationships, but also required to develop new opportunities both in the UK and within Europe. You will forecast levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keep a constant check on stock levels. Promotional plans are to include the management of the European stock. This is a a new role which will be autonomous with a high level of responsibility.

The successful Procurement Manager will:

• Currently hold the position of; Procurement Manager, Assistant Procurement Manager, Buyer, Junior Buyer, Assistant Buyer, or equivalent.
• Buying background and commercially astute
• Experience of food / fresh produce buying (soft fruit, exotic, herbs, flowers)
• Be able to build sustainable business relationships at senior level and be a great communicator
• Have an eye for detail / operate with a can do hands on approach
• Ideally be degree educated or equivalent

In return you will receive a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits, including bonus, pension, healthcare and other company benefits.

This is an office based contract in the East Midlands / Lincolnshire office. There will be the requirement to travel to Europe once a month for 1-3days when required.
