The Internet of Things is forecast to create around $19 Trillion of economic value by 2020. We are an enterprise software company dedicated to helping the world’s largest companies capitalise on this exciting business opportunity.

We have developed a cloud based, Internet of Things, software platform which we supply to the world’s most exciting consumer product brands. The breadth of opportunity for the platform is huge and has the potential to transform the products these companies make, the way they do business with their customers, as well as the overall efficiency of their business operations. Working directly with our largest global customers and a rich ecosystem of business partners, your role will be to identify, develop and close new business deals. This is a strategic sales role at the forefront of the third wave of IT driven competitiveness, the Internet of Things.

Role

This position is focussed on targeting the marketing function of large consumer packaged goods companies, typically via the Chief Marketing Officer and other senior decision makers.

The proposition is derived from the fact that consumers touch their products every day making it the ultimate owned media channel. By connecting their products with consumers through Internet of Things technologies, companies can unlock new ways of doing business. Personalised digital experiences can be attached to physical products differentiating them, deepening customer engagement and improving business operations by allowing brands to identify and effectively make use of new streams of data about their customers and how interact with their products.

Candidates with a good working knowledge of core marketing principles, creative marketing process and the value of data driven principles will be well positioned to be successful but this is ultimately a quota carrying sales role. Working with stakeholders across the customer, the partner landscape and our internal teams will be necessary to be successful in this pursuit.

A proven track record and list of senior contacts within the marketing ecosystem and within the consumer packaged goods customer base will be a powerful asset. The ability to hit the ground running and secure significant business within short lead time will really differentiate the best candidates.

Responsibilities

· Securing significant new business from a list of target accounts

 

· Effectively covering the sales territory and prioritising accounts and opportunities

 

· Building and developing a sales pipeline against short and long term objectives

 

· Owning the entire sales process from prospect to close

 

· Negotiating commercial and contractual process

 

· Providing accurate sales forecast and management reporting

 

· Meeting and exceed sales targets

 

· Marshalling and working with cross functional teams to deliver sales and delivery

 

· Providing leadership within the market and our business in relation to the opportunity for the IoT within the Consumer Packaged Goods and Marketing landscape

 

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

· 7+ years of enterprise sales experience

 

· Clear record of sales achievement meeting and exceeding quotas

 

· Bachelor's degree desired

 

· Familiarity with a structured sales methodology and sales tools including Salesforce.com

 

· Experience selling to the marketing function and the marketing technology landscape

 

· Commercial and contract negotiation skills

 

· A consultative, solution focussed sales style happy to challenge existing norms

 

· Comfort with cloud computing technology and securing its adoption within global companies.

 

· Language skills beyond English a plus

 

· Ability to identify creative applications for new technology to support marketing objectives often by brainstorming with the client.

 

· Familiarity with the deployment process for enterprise software to enable sales to move smoothly towards implementation

 

· Familiarity with agencies and their role in the realisation of a brand's objectives

 

· Self-driven, positive and with a bias to action

 

· Strong presentation and negotiation skills
