Commercial Operations Controller

£Competitive + Bonus + Car + Benefits

Based : Midlands

Alpro (UK) Ltd is a highly successful and growing £100m food and drink business, manufacturing naturally healthy plant-based alternatives to milk, yogurt, desserts and cream. Alpro is the market- leading brand in Europe with a 40% share of the dairy-free category and also features in the Top 100 UK Grocery brands. Entrepreneurial, innovative and dynamic with significant ongoing investment in marketing and NPD, the business is currently experiencing double digit sales growth and is now seeking a Commercial Operations Controller to help support and drive their ambitious growth plans going forward.

Reporting to the Commercial Director the position of Commercial Operations Controller is pivotal to the future success of the business and is instrumental in ensuring the efficient management of the relationship between commercial and supply chain and all internal commercial processes associated with offering a ‘best in class’ service to the customer. The role has a broad remit and will be fully responsible for managing the company’s demand planning and forecasting process as well as acting as the key supply chain interface both internally and externally. Additionally, you will take ownership of all data reporting concerning product and pricing using SAP as the key management information system. Working cross-functionally with both UK and European colleagues you will lead and represent the Commercial Operations team, producing regular performance reports for senior management and presenting at important meetings. You will also be expected to build good relationships with key retailer contacts. The role will also have leadership and man-management responsibility for a small commercial operations team.

For this position, we are looking for someone with a broad level of experience in FMCG operational management. Your specific background is less important and you may currently be working in a demand planning, forecasting or a supply chain role but have direct and regular contact with the key Grocery retail customers. Alternatively you may be a highly experienced Top 4 Grocery Multiple Account Manager and possess a strong appreciation and understanding of the forecasting, demand planning and supply chain processes, together with an ability to influence and drive change. To be considered you will need to demonstrate a range of skills including commercial awareness, planning and organisation, attention to detail and some previous people management experience.

The role is based at the company’s Head Office on the outskirts of Birmingham (M6/M42) with regular travel to other UK and European locations as required.
