Our client is currently looking for an experienced Communications professional for a maternity cover position.  Vital to this role is your ability to generate a high level buzz around the brand through PR, social media whilst protecting the business reputation and brand equity. You will need to be comfortable across both Internal and External Comms and have experience across Consumer, Trade and Corporate PR as well as being comfortable at Board Level.

This is a pivotal senior role within a business that has a very strong and well known brand across the UK. My client made their name with a high number of restaurant chains and now building out products across trade/retail with the consumer at the heart of everything they do. 

 

THE ROLE 

My client is searching for an experienced Communications professional. This role is critical, as it is the start point to all external and internal communications. You will be responsible for leading a team  to deliver effective communications through a number of channels.

Vital to this role is your ability to generate a high level buzz around our brand through PR, social media whilst protecting our business reputation and brand equity.

You will already hold proven communications experience that includes consumer, trade and corporate PR through multiple channels inclusive of a solid demonstrable experience of using social and media platforms.

You must have dealt with both internal and external communications as part of your experience to date and will have a number of external contacts that you will utilise to support message delivering inclusive of senior level journalists and relevant third party agencies.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of all key messages through external contacts that build brand value.
  • Building the reputation of the brand and delivering crisis management if required
  • Through team delivering campaigns that differentiate the brand, focusing activity around overall business strategy
  • Leveraging great relationships with consumer press
  • Utilising social media as a key consumer engagement tool
  • Ensuring regional PR coverage is part of overall coverage specifically in relation to new openings and transformed estate
  • Leading engagement and awareness of our unique education programme, the Primary Schools Programme – acting as key contact for Educational partners
  • Building the brand’s  reputation as the market experts, the go-to brand for commentary about anything market related
  • As part of communication strategy ensure exploitation across all seasonal events, new menu launches and bi news messaging ensuring positive coverage
  • Protecting the brand’s reputation by heading press management and messaging in a crisis
  • Leadership of promoting positive press coverage to internal community

THE PERSON 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven and demonstrable communications experience across consumer, trade and corporate PR
  • Will have liaised and reported at Board level
  • Solid experience of cross channel delivery that includes social media platforms
  • Will be able to leverage relationships already made with senior level journalists
  • Will have held the responsibility of managing third party relationships
  • Degree level of education or equivalent in business, PR or marketing related subject
  • Experience of the hospitality industry is desirable but not essential – at the very least will have worked within a blue chip environment
  • Will have proven leadership skills and hold previous people management experience
  • The ability to manage and deliver P&L
  • Demonstrable relationship building, influencing and wider communication skills
  • High work ethic with agility to work within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong commercial judgment - drives value through sound business thinking
  • Sense of ownership – results driven and holds themselves accountable for delivery and performance
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
