Category Analyst

Our client are one of the UK's largest privately owned business in the UK, they invested heavily in building purpose built manufacturing facilities for Tesco and have gone from strength to strength, becoming their largest supplier within the category.

Some of the shareholders now make up the main board and continue to push the business forwards, whilst the senior team implements strategy and drives the business forwards. This is a forwards thinking, exciting business to be a part of, who look to recruit individuals who want to develop their careers and progress internally.

We are looking to recruit for a new role within the marketing team, to support the senior category manager

The Role

You will be tasked to create and deliver compelling and actionable customer, market & category insight to help form tactical decision making for customer accounts- Tesco and Waitrose

Duties:

• To work closely with the Category Manager to recommend, analyse and report on category performance using Nielsen Marketing Data, Kantar & Dunnhumby to generate marketing insights & facility decision making.
• To work cross functionally, and with external agencies where appropriate on all data related related projects.
• Working alongside the sales & marketing team to deliver customer account plans.
• To understand customer profiles & behaviours.
• To identify key drivers of category, subgroup & product performance.
• Assess the performance of promotions to help influence future promotional strategy.
• Understand competitor markets in terms of products, promotions, pricing strategies.
• Liase with the marketing team on the presentation of insight

The Person

• You ideally need 18 months in an analytical role – and have be fully data literate
• Strong communicator
• Have energy, passion and someone who is keen to learn and progress
