North West England

£23,000 to £26,000 pa

The role:

As Product Manager you will gain a firm understanding of the competitive market and market trends and develop product ranges which give the company a competitive advantage.  You will support the Head of Category and Senior Product manager in the implementation of the category strategy, managing elements of the marketing mix including product pricing, promotion and distribution, in order to deliver the budgeted sales and margin for the category.

Job accountabilities include:

  • Support the category in achieving budgeted market share and profit margin in line with brand strategy, drive market share supporting NPI for the category giving competitive advantage and aiding sales growth through additional product listings in all channels of distribution.

 

  • Collating and interpreting market trends to develop and launch new products in line with the brand strategy.

 

  • Monitoring, interpreting and communicating competitor activity to develop product strategies to achieve growth targets.

 

  • Support the Head of Category and Senior Product Manager in managing the product portfolio from cradle to grave, with full involvement with all parts of the business and internal project teams to achieve the profit and timescales required in new product development through to product deletion.

 

  • Communicating all features and benefits of the product portfolio to internal and external customers to achieve budgeted market share targets.

 

Educated to Degree level in Marketing or Business, you will have good communication and IT skills, a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to influence at all levels. You will have an understanding of manufacturing and marketing, and product development. 

An energetic and driven individual who is keen to learn and quick to grasp is essential. Experience in a Consumer Brand business would be very welcome but self-motivation, ambition and achievements in a similar role are more critically important.
