Aunt Bessie’s Ltd ambitious plans for further growth mean that the team are looking to recruit a thought provoking, intellectually strong and creatively driven Ideation Manager to make a significant contribution to the future development of their business.

Sitting integrally within the marketing team the Ideation Manager is a new role designed to instil a more externally focussed marketing team culture that is consistently creative and constantly challenges themselves to think “so what…?”.

You will work cross functionally across marketing, NPD, category and insight whilst becoming deeply entrenched in the inner workings of the target consumer mindset. Through the deeper understanding of what this privileged position will give, you will be best placed to create a unique platform for idea generation and  innovation for the future.

Your goals will be as ‘blue-sky’ as they are measurable. The team will be looking to you to give the consumer story to develop a long term pipeline of brand stretch activity which could see Aunt Bessie’s transition in to new categories, drive innovation in existing products or even create revolutionary new concepts not yet seen or even conceptualised in the market.

Anyone who follows the rules, sticks to the process and works to the confines of a job description need not apply. You will sit within a closely knit and well established team so you must balance a healthy respect with how things are currently done with a willingness to challenge the norm and push the team and wider business to think in new ways. The role will suit a ‘maverick’ character who does not shy away from coming up with the sometimes wacky, occasionally absurd but never boring.  Although every idea will be considered, not every idea will be successful so a robust attitude and raw enthusiasm to keep on churning the ideas despite been told no will win you the respect of the team.

Attitude, creativity and an ability to take others on a journey with you will be more important than a specific prior career path although experience in FMCG will give you the necessary appreciation to deliver to the high standard expected.  An exposure to research, insight or innovation would stand you in a naturally positive position to be successful.
