Group Supply Chain Manager JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management and coordination of the monthly global demand, supply, and inventory planning processes for the assigned business division. This will include creating analysis reports for senior management, developing overall demand forecasts for assigned categories and markets, acting upon purchasing decisions in line with Open-to Buy and passing these requirements on to the Production-Capacity Planning team for logistical execution on a weekly/monthly basis. Responsibilities include aspects of inventory management including inventory optimization and maintaining acceptable inventory levels in support of established objectives, safety stock strategies and material status maintenance throughout product life cycles, process and management routines for SAP data maintenance, MRP audits, etc. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Partner with global sales and product teams to compile forecasted product demand in a timely manner and within range of sales plans, adjusting as business environment requires and load and maintain updates in SAP
  • Manage creation of monthly forecast, demand v. supply, inventory overview reports. Coach the Planning team on proper communication of this information to the markets and follow up steps required and on leading the forecast and buy process and to coordinate the Forecast vs. Actuals review process and ensure required adjustment to signals in SAP are updated per agreed cadence
  • Manage relevant master data maintenance as required to achieve sales optimization, including material master, safety stock requirements, lead times, and buying cut-off tables
  • Supervise the monthly warehouse but to ensure inventory availability of product (including directional buys and repeat orders) in line with Open-to-Buy plan and other agreed inventory objectives
  • Organize, escalate and follow up on excess inventory sales opportunities and programs with Business Team, Sales, Product Management, Finances, etc.
  • Manage inventory re-forecasting process to define inventory objectives and monthly follow up on action items to reach inventory objectives (cancel/delay purchase orders etc.)
  • Institute a process for analysis and recommendations to business for appropriate markdown provision process accommodating additional markdowns for aged product, Excess and Obsolete, Close Outs, Promo possibilities, etc.
  • Manage refinement of SAP/Bi system and act as BPO and authorized approver for SCM issues for Easton business. Assist and train team to increase SAP/Bi understanding
  • Organize team-testing strategies for assigned SAP/Bi issues and enhancements. Manage proper documentation and communication of findings to MIS
  • Initiate events and coordinate key stake holders to increase two-way communication and understanding of processes. Also establish process improvements and change management within the department
  • Support centralization projects, which include defining future demand planning and buying as well as preparing and supporting future migrations, SAP upgrades and functionality implementations
  • Supervise and develop staff responsible for forecasting, demand-supply planning, buying and inventory management decisions at the product SKU level
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Degree required. 
  • 7 – 10 years experience in Supply Chain/ Inventory Planning/ Sales Planning
  • Business experience on a global level with proven Asian supplier/vendor management experience
  • Experience in sporting goods industry preferred
  • APICS certification- CPIM preferred
  • Advanced ERP experience- SAP strongly preferred (Bi data warehouse experience a plus)
