The Role

We have a really exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to help lead our relationship with one of the standard bearers when it comes to quality food - M&S. This role will be responsible for account management of one of our key categories and you'll identify key opportunities within Marks & Spencer and Greencore Northampton.

The Detail

As the Business Manager you will work closely with Marks and Spencer and you will be responsible for our M&S Deli, 'Hot Food On The Move' and Chilled Ready Meal Category. This is an extremely vibrant and fast growing sector of our relationship with M&S and the successful Business Manager will be tasked with growing Greencore's influence by maximising all opportunities for M&S. This will include a strong focus on the day to day performance to achieve annual sales and margin targets.

It really is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Category Manager, Business Manager, or National Account Manager (NAM) who is looking for a new challenge. You'll be based at our busy and expanding Northampton site and as you'll be working with Marks & Spencer you'll spend your time out in stores and at their head office.

You'll have full responsibility for delivering the business plan for the deli, 'Hot Food On The Move' and chilled ready meal categories. You'll also work very closely with our category marketing and innovation teams to deliver the category plans. You'll also have the responsibility for enforcing the category management position.

With your commercial knowledge you'll also be able to identify areas and opportunities for cost reduction. You'll also ensure that ensure that all promotional and NPD activity meets the performance criteria set. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the future strategic direction of the category through leading or supporting a number of ongoing and new projects.

It'll come naturally to you that you'll be responsible for staying ahead of the game in the industry. And you'll keep abreast of market performance, wider food trends, and the activity of competitors, therefore helping to fuel intelligence and expertise within the team.

What's in it For You?

You will get the opportunity to have a visible impact on the strategy of one of the UKs premier food brands in Marks & Spencer. You'll also get to work for a company that really does put people at the core. Our Learning and Development team has delivered over 30,000 hours of training directly to our staff along with supporting people through various external courses.

Whilst you will be part of a very closely knit Business Management team you'll also be part of a much wider commercial team. Here you'll be part of an active and diverse team including sales and new product development. As we're a food company and you'll be part of the team working on development you'll get to influence and taste the latest and greatest products. Possibly best of all though you'll have the opportunity to enjoy cake club!

What we look for

We're looking for an experienced NAM, BAM, Account Manager or Business Manager with experience of managing accounts, ideally with M&S. This isn't key though experience with any of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, ASDA, Waitrose or Coop as an example being a great start. Ideally you'll also have a wealth of experience within the chilled food sector.

A key thing that we will be looking for is that you've really got a drive and passion for account management and you'll really understand how to work closely with a client. Of course you'll need to be commercially savvy and you'll be able to demonstrate how you've taken insight and converted it into commercial solutions. You'll spend a lot of time communicating with a wide range of people at a variety of levels so you'll need to be comfortable presenting to small and large groups.

We really love food so naturally you'll really love food too and you'll have a real passion for the industry!
