Salary £60 – £70k pa according to experience

The Radstock Co-operative Society was established in 1868 and is a locally owned and locally managed consumer co-operative business which prides itself on its ethical values and principles. The core business activities are in retailing, farming, property and investments.

Our successful, and rapidly expanding retail estate consists of twelve convenience stores and a superstore with both a food and non-food offering including a travel agency, post office, café, fashions and homewares. As part of our succession planning process, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Retail Operations to join the senior management team (SMT) and to contribute to the development and implementation of the retail and Society strategic plans. The successful candidate will have a primary focus of driving sales and profit growth through effective store management.

You will have a minimum of 5 years management experience at senior level gained in a FMCG Retail Operations environment ideally with knowledge of the co-operative business model. You will have excellent project management and report writing skills and a sound understanding of retail trends. Ideally, you will have a relevant management and a retail qualification and be highly commercial with exceptional strength of character. The role demands strong leadership and communication skills with an emphasis on team working including building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
