Operating in an exciting category, our client prides themselves on getting right under the skin of the consumer and shopper alike. Enjoying a great reputation with their customers, our client is well-known for innovating into new sub-categories through developing strong relationships backed up by great products, fuelled with strong insights. Now category captains in all top four grocery mults our client is looking to bolster its JS team and bring on board Category Manager for this account.

The Role

You will use sales data and market insights to make recommendations across product, space and NPD. You will also be responsible for spotting opportunities to increase profitability and market-share for JS. Working cross-functionally at retailer head-office and within the business, this role has been described as the ‘pulse’ of account management. Equipped with an excellent budget and a supportive team of category analysts, you will be freed up to truly manage the growth strategy for the retailer, ensuring that you are the go-to expert on category questions.  

The Person

You will be operating at Category Manager or Category Merchandiser level in an FMCG supplier or retailer, whether branded or own-label. You will have had in-depth experience of producing insights from a wide range of data-sets and retailer EPOS systems. Most importantly, you will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate and present intricate insights into commercial strategy with brevity and passion. These qualities will quickly earn you the reputation you deserve internally and lay the groundwork for rapid promotion.
