My client is a household name in sporting goods and has over 100 years in the sector in which they operate. With a wide range of products they cater to many segments of the market and over recent years have entered into new product areas, developing both their brand image and reputation in the market. After been taken over by a global leader in the industry they now have production facilities in Europe and a strong financial backing to help them in their continued pursuit for excellence. Due to their continued growth in the UK they are now seeking a number of Area Sales Managers to join their business.
You will be responsible for creating brand awareness of new and existing product ranges within independent accounts. Although all territories are well-established, building upon the existing account base with new accounts will be a crucial part of the role. You will actively seek new business and source opportunities in a mixture of markets including sport and leisure. You will also be responsible for journey and call planning, ensuring you divide your time appropriately between priority accounts. You will have experience in working at trade shows and representing a brand in this way. Finally you will work with the UK Sales Manager to establish a longer term strategy for the territory.
To be considered for this opportunity you will currently be working in a field sales role within the outdoor and sporting goods industry. As well as being able to show the ability to open new accounts you will also be able to show experience of manage existing accounts in such a way as to get the most for both your retail partner and the business. Most importantly, you will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to operate autonomously and deliver strong sales results.
