Role description
Blakemore Wholesale is looking for a Managing Director to run its Cash & Carry Division. The Managing Director will be responsible for growing both sales and profit through the leadership team.
You will be accountable for the following:
• Development and implementation of strategies to drive sales, profitability and customer loyalty.
• Exploring and developing both new and existing market segments
• To ensure high operational standards to develop cash & carries of excellence, improving the customer experience.
• Management of cross functional and divisional relationships to encourage the development of collaborative working to drive efficiencies and improve group performance
• Ensure class leading technology is utilised to its maximum competitive advantage.
• To drive staff engagement within the division though effective leadership
• To further develop the retail stores group to drive loyalty and profitable sales
• CAPEX requests
• Stockholding levels in accordance with group targets
• Full P&L accountability for the Cash & Carry business
Who we're looking for
The Managing Director will be an exceptional leader. He or she will have the strategic capability to both visualise best practice, then implement across the organisation. We are looking for an established player within the cash & carry market. It is essential that you have board level experience in the cash & carry, retail, food service, or wholesale industry.
You will be able to demonstrate the following core competencies:

AF Blakemore is one of the biggest and most successful family owned enterprises in the UK. The company is divided into 8 Divisions, each of which has its own Board of Directors.
The Blakemore Wholesale Division operates 14 cash and carry sites across the UK. Blakemore Wholesale is the largest member of the Landmark Group and currently 3rd in size in the cash and carry market in the UK.
