Our Client distribute and sell a range of confectionery products. They develop business by selling display stands full of sweets to garden centres, visitor attractions and Farm Shops.

They are now looking for an Account Manager for the South East,

This is what they are looking for :

It is essential that candidates have evidence of having had some structured training and understand the essential skill sets for being an Area Manager / Territory Manager, namely ; steps of the call, call preparation and objective setting, questioning and summary, journey planning, handling objections. And above all they are looking for people who enjoy selling.

The company sell into mainly garden centres, tourist attraction and Farm shops and our client would prefer somebody who has exposure to at least one of these channels. The customer base is mainly independent / owner operated businesses and the jobholders will be dealing with anybody from a part time sales assistant to a shopkeeper to business owner / director. Mostly they’ll not be dealing with professional buyers although there will be some work with larger accounts and possibly even National Accounts where they deal with a proper buyer ( the likes of Tower of London and the Science Museum for example ). There is no need for candidates to have had any exposure to major / national accounts as this training will be given.

Candidates can be from any category although related categories would obviously be preferred eg confectionery, premium food products, gifts, cards, garden related etc

Areas and living Locations :

The south east area is massive and is everything south and east of the line running from The Wash to Bournemouth. There will be lots of driving and the job holder can expect to spend on average three nights each week away from home. Candidates for this area should live within the following area ; starting at Stansted ( which is jn 8 of the M11, between London and Cambridge ), go to Milton Keynes, then to Oxford, then south to Basingstoke, then south east to Horsham, then north east to Faversham in Kent, then due north to Colchester and then back to Stansted. This forms a  great big circle around London, approx. 30 to 50 miles outside of the M25.

Remuneration - £28k to £30k basic. There is also a company car ( Audi A4 or similar ), and commission of £12k pa OTE
