Job Details

My client is a major international food manufacturer who is the true category leader with their range of products. Due to internal promotions, they are now looking to strengthen the team with the hire of two Regional Sales Manager to look after a region in the Midlands and another in the South East and the field sales executives within it for their extensive and growing food service division. There are hugely ambitious growth plans for the foodservice division and this will cascade down to plenty of internal opportunities for your own personal progression. This is a rare opportunity to join this market leading business.

The Role:

  • Lead your team of Field Sales Executives to ensure the implementation of joint business plans and drive results within the region.
  • The development and performance management of the Field Sales Executives, through daily contact and regular team meetings, execution of their individual personal development plans and regular 121’s with the team.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key contacts within wholesalers, communicating regional / national plans, setting appropriate incentive programmes and evaluating promotional activity to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
  • Pull together and implement jointly agreed business development plans with own customers to optimise performance in line with company objectives and strategy.
  • Management of timely reporting of relevant competitor and market activity through the Field Sales Executives.
  • Create a climate of individual and team pride in exceeding performance targets.

The Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within the FMCG food sector.
  • Educated to degree level or the equivalent.
  • Experience of leading and developing a sales team and driving results.
  • Proven sales management and account management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with excellent planning and organisation.
  • Customer facing skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Full clean driving license.
