The Company:

Stihl is a global leader in outdoor power tools serving the forestry, construction, agricultural and gardening markets via a network of 400 servicing dealers nationally.

STIHL is committed to working in partnership with their servicing dealer network, to enhance the STIHL and VIKING brands and to develop the business through marketing, effective merchandising and product displays in store.  To deliver the Dealership Development programme, STIHL is recruiting this exciting new field based role, to work with our Dealerships in the Midlands.

The Role:

Reporting to the Dealership Development Manager, this role involves visiting dealers to install / update shop fittings, improve merchandising, set up point-of-sale material and advise on prime positioning of STIHL/VIKING displays.  There are opportunities to assist with the training of dealers in the demonstration and effective sale of products and to identify new sales opportunities. A Merchandiser who demonstrated success and capability at this level would enjoy an excellent future career path into sales, training or marketing. The job holder will need to travel throughout the region and this will require nights away from home each week.

The Benefits:

Basic salary plus van (for business use) and a package of company benefits.

Stihl is a business that is committed to the development of all employees and successful individuals will enjoy considerable opportunities for future advancement.

The Person:

We are looking for a self-starter who wants to build a career with Stihl. The job holder needs to be reliable with strong organisational skills and prepared to commit considerable time and energy to this role. He / she will also need to be able to communicate effectively to individuals and groups as well as confident in the use of modern IT equipment and systems.

Your experience might be in retail management, field merchandising or training. You might be in a field based role with an understanding of in-store presentation and visual merchandising.  You might have worked in exhibitions or trade shows with experience of setting up impactful stands or you could be in shop fitting and used to managing projects.

A hands-on, practical and customer focused approach will be essential to coordinate and build the STIHL/VIKING shop systems and present products to create stunning showroom areas.  Ideally you will live in Birmingham, Telford, Coventry or Leicester in order to be centrally located within your area.

Interviews are planned to take place in Leicester on Wednesday 1 October.
