THE ROLE

Reporting to the EMEA Financial Controller, the Accounting & Controls Manager EMEA is a new regional role with responsibility for managing quarterly SOX certification processes, partnering with external and internal auditors to support regional financial process and control audits, leading ad-hoc special projects including regional accounting process standardization initiatives. Additionally, the role will provide expert accounting systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM) guidance as needed to new and existing business units and will directly support the regional group reporting close.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage regional quarterly SOX reporting processes and provide ad hoc support to regional business units for regular control updates, liaising directly with internal and external auditors to support control review activities.
  • Lead the support for new and existing business units with accounting and control process optimization, through delivery of training, regular monitoring and site visits (e.g. Quarterly balance sheet reviews) to ensure that the reporting systems and control environments are appropriate to the size and complexity of the respective businesses.
  • Support the EMEA Reporting Manager with monthly regional close processes and become expert HFM reporting system user to provide practical guidance to business units across the region.
  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc special projects identified by EMEA Controller or EMEA CFO (e.g.: regional accounting, controls, systems, process, and compliance projects)
  • Oversee EMEA region external audit arrangements including scope, timing and fees.
  • Provide back-up cover for EMEA Controller.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Relevant PQE with significant external audit, internal control and consolidated group accounting experience.
  • Previous employment with Big 4 and/or multinational organization is preferred.
  • SAP and group reporting systems experience required (e.g. Hyperion/HFM), excellent MS Office skills
  • Exposure to project management and process improvement techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid leadership skills to lead and influence others
  • Excellent English required. French or Polish beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • Exposure to FMCG business environment
  • Knowledge of internal control and SOX requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence without formal authority at all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgment and solve complex problems
