National Account Manager - Grocery

We are looking for a brilliant National Account Manager (or Commercial Manager, as we say at innocent) with strong national account experience to come and join our Grocery team.

The role offers experience on one of innocent's key accounts, giving that perfect person the opportunity to have a lot of internal visibility and recognition if they really deliver the doughnuts. You'll be managing a well-known customer with lots of senior team exposure, oodles of cross-functional working (with our Category, Shopper Marketing, Market Strategy & Planning and Customer Supply teams) and as much creativity as you can muster.

We’re a business that sees huge value in supporting our recommendations and decisions with robust data analysis and insights. This means you’ll get stuck into the detail for your account, understanding the forecast, promotional activity and everything else in between. You’ll also be speaking with your customer and visiting them regularly, making it your mission to understand them and their business inside out.

Therefore, we’d love you to have previous experience and knowledge of managing a Grocery or National retailer in FMCG so that you have a good grasp of the market, category management and customer marketing principles and have experience of planning and implementing promotions with BTL spend. You’ll be a self-starter who doesn’t wait for direction, comes up with clear concise recommendations based on fact and is able to engage, influence and lead internal cross functional teams. A love and mastery of Excel and very strong numerical skills are also towards the top of our list.

In order to be a success at this exciting role you'll need the following:

-Commercial experience and acumen with a great grasp of a P&L, investment principles and tracking CC/NR gained through managing a National retailer in FMCG

-A passion for selling with the savvy skills of a successful negotiator who’s used to influencing people at a senior level with resilience and tenacity

-Effective communication skills with customer facing experience and the ability to build close relationships with key contacts to create sustainable joint business plans that really deliver

-The ability to grapple with meaty problems and present complex solutions in a simple and effective manner – bouncing back in the face of obstacles and finding a solution that works
 

Reward:

Alongside base salary there are two bonus elements to the Commercial Reward package at Commercial Manager level – a personal bonus based on the performance of you and your team and an additional discretionary bonus based on company performance (PRP).
