Commercial Manager – Tesco

Up to £60,000, company car, bonus, healthcare and pension

Reporting into the Sales Director, the Commercial Manager will be working for one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of chilled ready meals, managing the Tesco account. Due to double digit year on year growth, there is now a requirement for a Commercial Manager to join this organisation.

The key purpose of this role is to drive profitable growth with Tesco through the development of excellent relationships and the delivery of the category strategy. In addition you are to generate profitable new business within the existing account and as required, negotiate appropriate trading terms.

Principal accountabilities include:

• Contributing to the development and delivery of the site’s commercial vision and strategy.

• Developing excellent customer relationships to drive profitable growth to mutual benefit.
• Using knowledge of the commercial strategy and market intelligence to create a business plan to deliver growth for the category, the company and Tesco.
• Achieving and exceeding target levels of customer sales and margin.
• Carrying out quarterly business reviews with Tesco.
• Developing an annual sales and profit budget for your account, reviewing performance and creating contingency plans to recover any deficit.
• Developing your own performance, capability and skill set through the PDR process, succession reviews and use of appropriately tailored training and development.

You shall be expected to have at least 4 years’ National Account Management experience. In addition to this it is essential you have worked with a Top 4 grocery account, and preferable that you have worked with Tesco. You will also have a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
