Barber of Sheffield are a successful, fast growing company supplying the Veterinary, Medical and Tattoo markets.

With tremendous growth, particularly through digital and International tattoo product sales, we are now forming a senior management team capable of taking Barber on the next phase of growth. As part of this new management team, we are looking to recruit a Head of Sales, with full responsibility for all sales activities within the business, managing the UK business and satellite teams throughout Europe. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Role Purpose:
To provide the strategy, planning and implementation of all sales activities for Barber Tattoo Supplies, Barber Medical and Barber Veterinary throughout Europe, through both online and offline channels.

• Management responsibility for an expanding European sales team - currently total FTE of 8.

• P&L Accountability for Direct tattoo studio business, medical and veterinary businesses.

• Creation and delivery of Sales strategy for UK and Europe, working closely with European satellite teams.

• Full responsibility for Direct tattoo studio business across UK and Europe - currently France and Spain have satellite offices, plans for further expansion.

• Full responsibility for Veterinary and Medical business across UK and Europe.

• Management of all sales team activities, including order taking, add on/up selling, outbound selling, customer service and returns.

• Planning and management of UK and International trade conventions, exhibitions and seminars.

• Management and motivation of European team, with requirement for International travel.

• Focus upon customer experience and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Making recommendations for core sales systems and process improvements.

• Adopting a customer management approach to customer communications - segmented approach with focus upon retention, reactivation and acquisition.

Who we're looking for

You will have proven experience of leading and developing a sales team, preferably with international or export exposure.

• Must have team management experience with proven leadership qualities and track record of driving team success.

• Must be prepared to play a hands on role, whilst also seeing the bigger strategic picture.

• International sales and marketing experience desirable.

• Ability to lead commercial negotiations on an International stage.

• Language skills would be a major advantage - French, Spanish, German and Dutch.

• Experience of working in a consumer goods sales leadership role is desirable - markets like hair care, beauty and health are of interest.

• An understanding and/or appreciation of the Tattoo industry would be desirable.

• Customer Relationship Management experience desirable.

• Great attention to detail with excellent literacy skills.

• Highly commercial with strong numeracy skills.

• Excellent communicator.

• Must be proficient in MS Office.

• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

• Customer focussed with an innovative and proactive approach.

• Would suit someone with ambitions to move into a Sales Director position within the next 3 years.

• Willing and able to travel throughout Europe.

About Barber

Starting out as a medical engineering company over 40 years ago designing and building plants for suture needles and scalpel blades, Barber of Sheffield soon developed into offering a range of stainless steel suture needles, drilled end needles, sternal needles, hypodermic needles and other specialized surgical needles.

Barber of Sheffield has continued to expand and over the years has moved into other markets including the veterinary, hospital, mortuary, funeral as well as the tattoo and piercing market.
