Group Technical Manager - Chilled Food Manufacturer

An experienced and passionate Technical Manager from the chilled food manufacturing arena required to inspire and drive technical excellence across our manufacturing site.

BASIC: c. £90,000 + Additional Bonus up to 45%.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Company Car / Car Allowance + Contributory Pension Scheme + Family Health Cover

LOCATION: Our sites are UK wide. You are likely to live south of Birmingham and be used to travelling/ commuting between sites and head office

To instil a culture of technical excellence, we require a Technical Manager (Group remit) to provide strategic direction and inspirational leadership to drive and harmonise technical working practices, processes, standards and personnel across our group manufacturing sites that exceed customer expectations.

JOB SPECIFICATION / KEY CHALLENGES - Group Technical Manager

Through the management of both regional and onsite technical teams, you will take responsibility across the business for:
* The development and instigation of innovative strategies and processes that improve our current working practices and standards
* Creating and implementing a variety of continuous improvement programmes including vendor management & monitoring, microbiological compliance, raw material (intake/QAS) and packaging specifications that ensure industry “best practices” are achieved
* Providing effective resource management & tight budgetary/cost control
* Ensuring technical regulatory compliance & standards are not compromised across food safety, quality, factory hygiene and food labelling
* Maintaining strong client relationships by providing expertise for all technical related issues and resolutions
* Managing, developing and empowering these teams to achieve KPIs/deliverables set
* Developing and implementing a progressive programme that both protects and informs all regarding our corporate responsibilities

PERSON BRIEF: Group Technical Manager - Chilled Food Manufacturer

We would be delighted to receive applications from individuals who bring technical expertise, a fresh innovative approach to all they do and who have:
* A relevant degree level qualification (or equivalent) within a food science or closely related discipline
* Extensive experience and proven track record of technical management within the chilled food sector, ideally with a variety of manufacturers
* Demonstrable experience of developing people, standards and expertise within the technical arena that positively impacted on profit and growth
* Previously worked for a multiple site manufacturer

It is highly likely you will have also worked with the following food sectors, standards and held the following type of role:
* Products/Standards - Chilled Food. ISO 9000. BRC Global Standards. HACCP. IOSH
* Job Role - Head of Technical. Technical Manager. Group Technical Manager. Technical Director, Technical QA Manager.
