The Company:

My client is a growing company with a strong market presence in the Toys and Games sector. They have an established business with strong licenses and a clear direction and vision on how to drive the business forward.

They have a well rooted sales team and a great working atmosphere which is led by the senior leadership team. They have good market penetration in the Top4 Multiples, High Street retail and online retailers but still have more room to expand. As a result of this and the amount of new opportunities for the business they are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team.

The role:

Reporting into the Sales and Managing Directors you will be a key member of the sales team as a Senior Business Development Manager. Your role will be to look after key strategic accounts within the Top4 multiples, High Street Retail and online retail, where strong relationships already exist.

You will be expected to grow existing accounts to ensure all opportunities are maximised. You will also develop accounts and drive new business in areas that have not been fully utilised. You will prepare monthly forecasts and sales budgets and work closely with the rest of the sales team, sharing best practice, current trends and ways to develop accounts lerading the team from the front and setting an example for all to follow.

You will be responsible for managing your own diary and will spend the time required to meet clients and understand their needs. This will involve travel across the UK meeting customers so you will need to be highly motivated and committed to the role, especially in the first few months when meeting clients for the first time. When not visiting clients you will be office based in the South East of England.

The person:

You will be an experienced sales professional within the Toy or Games Industry. You will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience within these sectors and you will understand the complexities of working within each of the sales channels described above. You will have lots of ideas how to build accounts and deliver joint business plans.

You will be a strong character, with leadership skills, honesty and integrity and able to integrate into an existing sales team. You will ideally have experience dealing with the following accounts:

- Argos/Amazon/Toys R Us/Hamleys

- Asda/Tesco/Morrisons/Sainsburys

- Debenhams/House of Fraser/Harrods
