SCOPE OF THE ROLE

To lead the Schwartz Herbs and Spice business to deliver target NSV/profit & value market share growth through developing and implementing strong ROI marketing plans.  Overall accountability for the profitability, promotion, pricing, packaging, media, and new product plan.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


• Brand Planning:  Analyse market data and trends identifying market opportunities and threats, brand strengths and weaknesses and to make appropriate recommendations to develop the brand.   Plans to include, proposals on positioning, packaging, product development, promotions, pricing and communication together with volumes, revenue, expenditure and profit. Ensure all brand plans have strong profitable ROI
• Once brand plans agreed implement the plans, working with all the external/internal agencies to ensure they happen to time/budget and KPIs
• Quarterly market report: Analyse market data and trends identifying market opportunities and threats, brand strengths and weaknesses, providing timely and accurate reports
• In conjunction with the Demand analyst and the National account managers ensure that analysis, agreement and updating of all range forecasts is effected to the agreed company financial period/timetable.
• Account Planning:  Liaise with Catman and Sales to ensure all relevant marketing information; account specific promotional activity and new product launch information is available and communicated
• Recommend and execute NPD: work with R & D and operations to maximise potential opportunities for range development as well as product improvements on a continuous basis.
• Profitability – To continuously review and evaluate the impact on the budgeted profitability of all key initiatives and discuss any significant variances with Marketing Director
• Recommend product and pricing strategy.


CANDIDATE PROFILE


• Preferably a degree in business related subject, ideally Marketing.
• Minimum 3 A levels.
• Relevant Brand management experience in FMCG / Food industry
• Experience of executing marketing campaigns, managing P&L   
• Energy and drive to enthuse the sales team
• Good organisational skills and ability to priorities
• Good written and verbal communication skills including ability to give effective presentations
• Strong project management skills
• Numerate with good analytical skills and ability to make recommendations for action based on data
• Good understanding of marketing strategies and techniques
• Experience of working with IRI or Nielsen and pulling out key insights
• Ability to build and sustain relationships at all levels (internal and external)
