One of the UK's best-loved chilled brands, my client is looking to re-invest strong profits into its category marketing team. With a strong focus on own-label partnerships with the major grocers, this business has a well-established team with a great track record of growing business collaboratively. This team provides a strong platform to build around and add further value to these successful relationships.

The Role

As Head of Category Management, you will be directing category strategy. Working closely with the senior team at the retailer head-office, your focus will be developing relationships with key decision makers. You will be responsible for taking the customer’s vision and turning this into activity that will deliver growth across profit, market-share, innovation and shopper activation. Internally, you will present the big picture back to the team, share the category vision and make sure that the team are excited to pull together and deliver cross-functionally for the customer.

The Person

This desire to strengthen key relationships means our client is looking for strong relationship builders. The ability to cope with lots of change and retailer demands in an extremely fast-moving category is essential, although this must be balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture and not lose hold of the ‘long-game’. You will be adept at championing your business as the ‘go-to’ expert in insights and will have the gravitas and experience to influence at a top-level and address key retailer needs. This may be your first senior category role, but you will be an expert level user of insights across panel data, retailer data and qualitative consumer research.
