They boast one of the industry’s strongest in house design studios and supply most of the UK’s leading multiple retailers with high quality, design led products for the home. David Mason Design offers both a branded and own label proposition to its customers and it is this flexibility that helps the business stand out from the competition across the market place. They are looking to grow further into the market place both with existing customers and through targeting new business. Due to expansion an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Buyer to join the existing team.

The recruitment of a Senior Buyer is an important part of the business’ growth strategy as it will free up more time for other key members of the business. Within this role the successful candidate will need to maximize sales and profitability through effective product procurement. This person will need to build strong relationships both with suppliers and key customers, assist in new product development and putting together product ranges. The role will involve sourcing product mainly from the Far East, but also Europe and other countries, attending regular trade shows both in the UK and overseas to maximize all business opportunities.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity candidates will ideally have previous experience of operating in a similar market place such as homewares, gift or home furnishings. They must have previous experience of working as a Buyer or a Senior Buyer, this could be within a retail environment or for an importer / manufacturer.  It is key that candidates have full product sourcing experience which includes working closely with factories in the Far East or Europe. Candidates must have creative flair, strong negotiation skills and the ability to work well in a pressurised environment. All candidates must be highly analytical and fully proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
