Senior Food Buyer  – South East, London

Our client supplies a varied range of fresh, chilled and frozen food products into the retail, foodservice and manufacturers across the UK and Europe. During the last 5 years, they have invested in excess of £5 million in developing their production facilities. Due to the implementation of an aggressive growth strategy, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Food Buyer.

Reporting to the Buying Manager, you will be responsible for a purchasing spend of circa £20 million. Your overall remit will be to source a variety of products with food category. A key aspect of the role will be to conduct technical supplier selection alongside running sourcing projects across all areas of the purchasing department.

Currently you will be in a similar role and hungry to work in a challenging but rewarding environment wondering when your next challenge will arise. CIPS or MCIPS qualified with extensive experience within the sector is desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / QUALITIES:                     

• Degree level preferred.
• Proven negotiating experience and knowledge of the food industry.
• Innate purchasing acumen
• Real commercial flair
• Decision maker
• Natural confidence and gravitas to be able to deal ‘at the same level’ as supplier owners or Managing Directors
• Prepared to commit long term to your next role

The role offers great progression opportunities together with attractive salary of up to £55,000 with benefits on top (car, private medical healthcare, pension contribution).
