Our clients are a leading household brand name in food & ingredients with successful operations in the U.K. for over half a century. Their product range covers ambient goods and ingredients. Located in Buckinghamshire, the manufacturing facility incorporates processing and packaging operations as well as wholesale distribution. They are now looking for an outstanding Buyer.
 
The role is to manage buying activities for the portfolio of products you are responsible for. The role will encompass:

* Continually negotiating the most competitive Shipping Terms & Rates
* To ensure the achievement of the most competitive prices from suppliers at the best possible terms
* Maintain continuous availability of products at a competitive cost of purchase
* Always maintain excellent supplier relations and developing alternative suppliers.
* New Product Development & New Supplier Development Activity continuously
* Advising the management on continuous improvement measures to add value to the business
* Ensuring stocks are not held in excess and that they rotate regularly to generate value

Ideally the successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent professional qualification, with at least 2 years buying experience in a similar capacity in the Food Industry. Good product knowledge and exposure to a similar range of products is an advantage. experience of using an ERP, they will be process- orientated with a real attention to detail, they will have the ability to think creatively as well as commercially and they will be highly computer literate. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, they will be organised, highly proactive; they will be comfortable working in a fast- paced environment and they will be able to work under pressure.

Salary up to £43,000 p.a. negotiable based on skills and experience.
