Assistant Buyer

Our client, one of the UK's leading retail organisations with a high profile and a reputation for innovation and quality, are seeking to recruit an Assistant Buyer initially on a fixed term contract basis. If you have food buying experience in a retail or wholesale environment, this opportunity could provide the springboard you have been looking for to ignite your career

The job holder will be heavily involved in supporting the buyer by dealing with supplier queries and assisting on the development of new ranges, bringing the product through to the customer, working closely with internal teams such as Marketing and Supply Chain.

Ideal applicants for this role will have experience in a retail, wholesale or FMCG Buying environment and preferably have experience in Fresh Food, Produce or Chilled ranges. Furthermore, you will be required to demonstrate a confident communication style, outstanding commercial and analytical skills as well as a positive outlook combined with a can do personality.

Only candidates who are available at short notice and prepared to work on a fixed term contract basis of initially 3 months will be considered.
