Area Sales Representative Job - Scotland

A successful and growing food ingredients business is looking to add an Area Sales Representative to its Scottish based team. This role would suit someone with knowledge of the butchery or fish industry and the application of products such as seasonings, rubs, glazes and marinades.

Based from home this Area Sales Representative role covers the East of Scotland from the boarders up to Aberdeen and is attached to the Lothian site in Bathgate. Ideally you will be base around the Perth/Dundee area for ease of travel up to Aberdeen and beyond. As Area Sales Representative you will regularly visit customers which range in size from small independent businesses such as local butchers to farm shops and small food manufacturers. You will identify the customers' needs and deliver presentations to showcase the range of products on offer. You will have the support of people from the development team if needed to join you on visits to answer technical queries.

Other responsibilities include:

• Negotiating prices, contracts and payment terms
• Monitoring competitor activity
• Delivering product presentations
• Develop new ways of selling
• Keeping abreast of industry developments
• Maintaining regular contact with the sales office
• After sales service
• Hitting KPI's and sales targets
• Attending trade exhibitions

The company, with its Head Office in Bradford, offers a wide range of food ingredients for the meat industry such as seasonings, glazes, rubs, coatings, sauces, cures, brines, stuffing and functional ingredients and has a state of the art manufacturing facility. The Lothian site is a warehouse and distribution depot with a small team who work in close partnership with its Newcastle site. There will be regular visits to both the Newcastle site and Bradford Head office for sales meetings and training.

This role would ideally suit someone with an existing knowledge of food ingredients and could come from a background as a professional chef, butcher or food developer. With additional responsibility for consumables, a background in food packaging sales could also be suitable for the role.
