Trade Marketing Manager  –  UK & International

My client is a highly successful International FMCG household goods manufacturer and clear brand leader in its category in several countries worldwide. Entrepreneurial, innovative and dynamic, it manufactures and markets a range of brands plus a limited range of own-label products for key retailers, many of whom are Category partners.  The company is currently showing strong growth across all sectors with a clear strategy to build sales and distribution in both the UK and overseas markets via a network of distributor partners. The company is now looking for a Trade Marketing Manager to help drive and promote their ambitious growth plans.

The Trade Marketing Manager role will be responsible for developing retailer specific marketing plans that drive growth within defined category sectors in UK, Ireland and other International markets. Working cross-functionally with Distributor partners, Country Managers, relevant data and insight agencies as well as Manufacturing, Purchasing and third party co-packers your objective is to maximise effective communication and project implementation.  Your remit will be broad including the preparation and presentation of Retailer Joint Business Plans, tracking and analysing competitor activity and reviewing all trade related research and data to develop key strategies and new brand opportunities in each key channel and trade account.

The role is based at the company’s offices in Surrey with a requirement for occasional overseas travel throughout the year.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate a minimum of c.3-5 years previous FMCG, consumer durables or household goods experience in a Trade or Customer  Marketing function, together with a successful track record of achievement in developing and delivering  effective trade strategies and plans to the customer. Commercially aware, you will demonstrate excellent planning, project management and presentation skills, combined with a “can do” attitude and strong team working ability. Previous International experience and a second European language would be an advantage.
