Job Details
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and well respected FMCG business based in Cambridgeshire. They are looking for an experienced Purchasing professional to join their team and be responsible for developing and implementing category plans and strategies for their assigned categories. Key to this role is delivering cost effective procurement and contracting whilst at the same time meeting the needs of the business.
Role Requirements Include:
- Manage the tendering process for the categories under your remit
- Source new products and suppliers as appropriate, ensuring all necessary criteria are met in respect of the production process, quality, delivery and costs.
- Develop and actively manage strategic relationships with suppliers
- Provide regular reporting on purchase activity, supplier performance and market activity
- UK and some international travel
Person Specification:
- Has previous proven category experience, ingredients or food essential
- Has proven experience in supplier contract negotiation
- Has proven experience in strategic sourcing, ideally new product, and putting category plans in place
- Is ideally MCIPS or working towards the MCIPS qualification
- Has 3 years + experience within FMCG Procurement
- Is a good communicator both written and verbal
- Has strong influencing skills
