Working within a fast paced and challenging environment you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the market place and respond appropriately to market developments and trends; balancing the needs of your customers with the company sell plan. 

As Category Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the profitability of your product categories whilst improving customer satisfaction. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of appropriate category plans which deliver on budget, sales, margin and incomes, whilst working with suppliers to consistently offer the best choice, price and service to our customers.

Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as not only will you champion the voice of our customers but provide constructive feedback to the business to strengthen the sales plan.   You will also need to develop and maintain solid professional relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure buy-in and feedback on your category plans. 

Sound negotiation and influencing skills are a pre-requisite for the role to enable you to manage your supplier base to deliver the most competitive terms year on year. 

You will need to be financially astute and commercially aware, ensuring budgets are met (and exceeded where possible), whilst maximising income opportunities from a variety of sources.  

With a proactive and determined approach to work, you will have strategic creative thinking, solid relationship management skills, complimented by a strong commercial background, demonstrating evidence of delivering great results.
