Catman Jobs are currently recruiting a Category Manager in the North West region for a well-respected own label FMCG business.

The Business 

A leading player in its category this European business has achieved impressive year-on-year growth. Their success has been built purely on shrewd acquisitions, performance and driving innovation. With a stiffening economic climate they are looking to build a category function that will support the commercial managers in taking the conversation away from price. 

The Role

To meet the challenge they are looking for an experienced category manager to develop a new customer marketing function and help drive the business to a higher level of delivery. Taking a customer-based approach the individual will become responsible for category activity on their top 4 grocery accounts and ensure the business are meeting their retailer demands efficiently. Regularly presenting to customers, understanding the drivers of the consumer, monitoring market trends, reviewing promotions & range and giving a steer to the commercial team through identifying new opportunities are all key attributes to this role. 

The Individual

The individual must have a definitive understanding of category analysis, understand how to use Kantar, Neilson, Dunnhumby & I2C data effectively, have an eye for detail and the capacity to take ownership of this category, driving consumer, customer & shopper insights. You will work well under pressure and have the ability to deliver exceptional insights into the category. More so, you will be supportive towards your peers and demonstrate a keenness to develop yourself and the business. Due to the nature of the organisation each day will provide a new challenge and you will not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved with several different areas of the business.
