This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with excellent category management skills to join a highly successful chilled FMCG business where shopper understanding and category insight is at the heart of the company’s decision making.

The role, based in Lichfield, Staffordshire will be responsible for delivering compelling category insights and objective market understanding to ‘top 4’ multiples in order to influence strategic decision making and drive real category growth.

You will:-

• Report directly to the Category Controller
• Be confident in the analysis and interpretation of sales and marketing data
• Identify risks and opportunities within the market and communicate then to the business
• Develop a category relationship with the buyer and other key customer contacts
• Lead range and category reviews across departments to ensure activities are aligned to the category strategy
• Work closely with the NPD and Marketing teams to provide shopper and category insights that inform our concept development
• Develop compelling rationale for all NPD launches and review product performance against agreed KPIs
• Aim to be your customers’ first point of contact as an unbiased category expert

The ideal candidate will need to have:-

• A confident and persuasive nature with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven category management experience and a clear understanding of the major grocery multiple accounts in UK
• An adaptable presentation style that reveals engaging ideas and recommendations with authority.
• High competency with Excel and PowerPoint as well as knowledge of the data interrogation software from both Nielsen and Kantar
• Excellent attention to detail
• A driven can-do attitude
• The ability to work in a fast paced organisation
