Interim Senior Brand Manager - 9 month maternity cover

My client is a clear leader in the categories they operate in and this role is to take ownership of a portfolio of brands. Already a high performing team, they have a clear and ambitious plan for the brands. This is an exciting but challenging time to join this business and as such we are looking for an experienced Senior Brand Manager to join the team on an interim basis.

The Role:

• Develop and deliver the strategy and marketing Brand Plans to support product categories in line with business objectives to maximise market share and brand profitability.
• In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, formulate category marketing strategy and detailed brand plans for both internal and retailer presentation, ensuring effective implementation and analysis of performance results.
• Manage the brand P&L’s ensuring that all strategic initiatives and new product development meets overall sales and profitability hurdle rates.
• Manage ROI analysis on key promotional activities against planned action standards presenting results and recommendations to the Head of Marketing and commercial teams.
• Effectively manage relationships with external suppliers.
• Lead, manage and champion NPD projects managing the process from concept to implementation.
• Manage all operational marketing activities.
• Monitor overall brand performance including profit, external brand consumer metrics and ex-factory sales performance to make informed recommendations.

The Requirements:

• Experience of working within FMCG brand marketing is essential and preferably within the food sector.
• Ideally a degree Education would be advantageous with a Marketing qualification.
• Managerial experience would be an advantage.
• Proven product and brand management skills.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Highly organised with a flexible approach with a focus on attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Able to work cross functionally across; Operations, R & D, Finance, Sales and Procurement.
• Be able to work on your own initiative and be a self - starter.
• Strong budget management skills.
