Catman Jobs are recruiting a Category Controller for UK Greetings.

The Business

UK Greetings manufacturer and distributes greetings cards, gift-wrap stationery and three-dimensional product.  These items are sold to specialist card shops, department stores, supermarkets, convenience stores and stationers.  The Company’s goal is to produce a quality product, which can be marketed at a competitive price to achieve an acceptable profit margin.

The Role

The Category Controller creates greeting card displays for national account customers and has full responsibility for specified programs, such as seasons and new product briefing.

• This post provides critical information in the form of detailed analysis and recommendations, from item level up, in order to keep the best selling product on display, thus maximizing sales potential and improving retail productivity.
• Effective preparation, presentation and implementation of these recommendations involves both external (customer) and internal persuasion and liaison. Provision of detailed and accurate information together with ensuring the business’ adherence to critical date paths are vital.

The Individual

Operating in category, shopper or an insight based role you will be looking to progress quickly through the traditional category or shopper marketing route. Attitude and drive is as important as technical ability. You will be at the top of your current peer set within your business and have a passion and desire to progress quickly in a fast paced and tough but rewarding environment.
