Main Responsibilities

Driving an effective procurement strategy, you’ll negotiate and manage contracts across drinks, confectionery, crisps and snacks and champion improved business practices, cost efficiencies and partnership working. By building strong working relationships with key suppliers, technical experts and colleagues, you’ll ensure that KPIs, SLAs and our business goals are all achieved. Ultimately responsible for reducing the Cost of Goods and achieving a Cost Price target that is profitable and sustainable, your role as Procurement Manager will also involve:

  • shaping processes and systems to inform, monitor and predict business trends
  • providing strategic options through a structured business planning system
  • adding value to supplier relationships and resolving issues in a mutually beneficial way
  • delivering cost savings across all areas through qualitative and quantitative data
  • regularly reviewing supplier performance and our supplier database.

The Ideal Candidate

As well as an impressive track record of delivering significant cost savings and negotiating complex contracts at the highest of levels within drinks, confectionery, crisps and snacks from the big brands, you must be somebody who always takes responsibility and sees things through to completion. Results driven, commercially astute and an excellent communicator you should be highly persuasive and a decisive decision maker who can ensure people appreciate the value of new business proposals. You also need to be:

  • able to manage conflicting priorities and work on your own initiative
  • resilient under pressure with superb time management skills
  • a logical thinker who can solve commercial problems and deliver strong commercial results in an ever-changing environment
  • willing to travel across the UK and overseas where required
  • passionate about understanding our customers and reacting quickly to meet their needs.
