The Company
Our client is a leading manufacturer in a fast moving and highly creative food sector, working in partnership with a diverse customer base to provide consumers with exciting and innovative food products. They are now seeking an exceptional Senior Commercial Manager who can help lead strategic direction and drive business growth.
The Role
In this high profile position you’ll be tasked with managing one of the company’s largest and most prominent customers, developing commercial strategy and delivering business plans whilst having full P&L responsibility. Through applying your commercial acumen and category management principles you’ll identify, research and implement opportunities for major business growth within your dynamic product area; you’ll conduct extensive market reviews and use key category data to deliver persuasive presentations to your prestigious customer, utilising your extensive retail knowledge to highlight innovation and support NPD projects that appeal to customer and consumer needs.
As a senior member of the commercial team you’ll be the main point of contact for your customer, providing insight and expertise on the development of commercial plans whilst building and maintaining steadfast relationships. You’ll also be involved with financial negotiations including trading terms, pricing and promotional activity, ensuring your sales objectives and profit margins are delivered whilst keeping internal teams updated on the progress of customer projects. In addition you’ll be setting the standard for providing excellent service, completing regular and accurate sales forecasts linked to business goals whilst ensuring targets are met within set budget parameters.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced and talented Commercial or National Account Manager who can make an impact in shaping the direction of the commercial strategy. You will have previously worked at a senior level where you have successfully managed a multimillion-pound major multiple account within the food manufacturing industry, ideally within the fast paced chilled convenience arena. Driven and motivated to achieve fantastic results you’ll have a proven track record of success in an FMCG environment where you have impressed customers with your excellent negotiation, presentation and project management skills. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the financial aspects of account management from P&L and budgets to sales forecasts. An acute awareness of food and consumer trends is also imperative to keeping up with key players and competitors within the industry.
