Summary:

A rare (pun intended) opportunity for an energetic marketeer to perform a hybrid role which will take your skill set to the next level. A challenging role for even the most dynamic of marketeers, this role will require minimum of 2 years category/insight experience.

The Business

My client is one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers with a growing and diverse portfolio of progressional branded and own label products. Due to continuing success on a global scale they are looking to bolster their Insight/Category function with an Insight Manager to focus on identifying opportunities for growth within the UK retail market.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Insight the role you will utilise the shopper/consumer insights data as well as your own knowledge of the retailers to create and deliver market leading category growth plans across a £multibillion category. You will be assisted by a Category Market Analyst to develop insight plans across the top 4 grocery retailers as well the premium and discounter channels. The role will grow accordingly with the business and several career paths will open as the role develops.

This is a business that sees huge value in supporting their recommendations and decisions with

robust data analysis and insights. You’ll also be speaking with the customer and visiting them frequently, making it your mission to understand their strategy and commercial plans. 

The role is office based in Birmingham – ideally located close to public transport and affordable parking.

The Individual

Experience of category or insight management within a brand and/or private label FMCG food business is essential. Good working knowledge of the marketing mix would also be desirable.

You will need to be an individual who has the ability to develop and establish clear cut category arguments that will educate the retailer. Ultimately you will be given full autonomy to paint the story of the category to the retailer – something that will get the juices flowing for any creative marketer.

It goes without saying that you must be a dynamic individual, demonstrating a high level of initiative, be confident, presentable and a ‘go getter’ mentality.  Also any evidence of successful sales and brand building will be well received.
