National Account Manager/Key Account Manager– Non Food

Our Client are a leading sourcing and design businesses for a range of non food products. With an excellent reputation for bringing good, better and best, branded and private label products from around the world. 

They are looking for experienced NAMs and/or KAMs who can proactively increase sales for them. Each new person will be given an existing category within an account, and it will be their brief to manage this for optimum profitability, and also to build on it by selling additional SKUs, and also looking for new business. It is envisaged that 75% of these people’s time will be spent working on the existing accounts, but nonetheless with an emphasis on new business, and additional SKUs.

This is what they’re looking for :

. Experienced non food NAMs or KAMs ideally from either Textiles and/or Electrical categories. Can come from any non food category, but ideal categories would be at least one of the following:

Textiles

  • Luggage
  • Memory Foam/ Mattresses/ Pillows
  • Ladies Shapewear

Electrical

  • Kitchen Appliances – Kettles, Toasters, Mixers etc
  • Floorcare – Steam cleaners, vacuum
  • Other Electrical – Audio, Irons

. Candidates must have evidence of having substantially increase sales to a particular account in the recent past.

. Would be ideal ( but not essential ) if they have some evidence of having opened brand new accounts from scratch.

. Hungry, energetic, entrepreneurial types wanted.

. Should be from an own label sector and not blue chip. They will need to work without a massive infrastructure to support them, and will need to roll up their sleeves and stick their fingers into lots of different pies. Must have lots of initiative to drive the business forward.

. Should be able to take detailed / comprehensive notes at meetings with buyers to pass back to the buyers / NPD team at our Client. Evidence of having picked up information from customers / buyers and having used this information to generate profit would be good. Strong listening skills for the same reason.

. An ability to  convert those notes into a functional brief for the buyer / NPD team would be a bonus but not essential as 80% of product is from the showroom ( i.e. non bespoke ).

Location – Ideally North West based or at least commutable to the North West

All employees will need to spend about 4 week pa abroad ( mainly Europe ) attending trade shows. 

Remuneration – for NAMs £30 to £40k basic. Car allowance. Lucrative commission paid on every sale. A go getter could double their salary !

 Remuneration – for KAMs £25k to £35k basic. Car allowance. A go getter could double their salary !
