Buyer – Food

This leading retailer is keen to strengthen its trading division by appointing a food buyer.

You will be a strong negotiator and have previous food buying experience gained from a retailer in any food category including grocery, snacks, fresh, produce, chilled, frozen, dairy, impulse, ambient, beers wines and spirits etc. Candidates with a foodservice / wholesale buying background will also be considered, eg, sandwiches, cakes, savoury pastries etc.

Applicants should have the following skills and attributes:

• Highly developed negotiation skills
• Food Buying experience within a multi-site retail environment
• Excellent supplier management skills
• Strong commercial acumen – accountability for achieving and excelling company targets
• Strategic ability – responsible for setting budgets, achieving margins, category profitability etc
• Highly self-motivated individual
