National Account Manager – FMCG – National Retail & Convenience

BBI Healthcare develops, manufactures and distributes an innovative portfolio of leading healthcare products including women’s health, energy and digestive products to consumer retail, healthcare professional and export markets. We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Account Manager to drive category growth on market leading brands.

The Person

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative thinker with excellent negotiation and team skills to improve penetration in the market, and work with retailers to deliver solutions. You will be from an FMCG background with a good understanding of how retail customers think, operate and behave, with a strong working knowledge of trade marketing principles.   The successful candidate will have good market and competitor knowledge, and be able to think strategic but act tactical. You will thrive in an ambitious, fast­-paced environment and be able to grow share through your own national account relationships.

 

The Role

  • Proven track record in National Accounts Management with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within FMCG
  • Produce, agree and regularly review the Annual Account Plan
  • Responsibility for achievement of the Account Plan
  • Communicate the plan to national accounts and maintain effective relationships
  • Identify and develop potential new customers & channels of trading
  • Negotiate best prices for the company based on volume and strategic importance
  • Monitor sales performance and assess account strengths and weaknesses
  • Proactively address weak performing products
  • Provide effective sales monitoring and reporting systems
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels with National Accounts by providing accurate forecasts
  • Report on visits on a daily basis via CRM to enable management to monitor progress and to register customer and market developments as input for future development, marketing, sales actions or policies
  • Assess new product and promotional opportunities
  • Implement and manage trading terms and pricing changes
  • Implement, monitor & execute a cost effective annual promotion plan as part of the AAP, which increases volume and approved in-store visibility in line with Brand plans and account / channel objectives.
  • Maximise return on investment by producing credible commercial / selling proposals supported by robust and credible evidence and / or data analysis

This role is field-based, with attendance at Pencoed or Cardiff offices as required.
