POSITION OVERALL PURPOSE AND CONTEXT:
Reporting into the Business Unit Director, the Account Director is responsible for developing and delivering strategic account plans that deliver the best return for their client base in line with the overall team and business objectives. You will be confident in initiating and developing senior networks across your client base, leveraging opportunities and mitigating risks to ensure you deliver against your commercial targets. You will also ensure that you maintain a customer focused and highly responsive team and offer exceptional client service.
You will believe in transparency and openness with employees, clients and suppliers and adopt a partnership approach which understands the needs of all stakeholders in line with our company values and vision.
You will believe in providing employee feedback and develop your team through training and development to achieve current and future business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management:
Achieving annual team/client budgets Ensuring accurate pipeline management in line with company guidelines Accurate reporting of business performance Implementation of Invoicing processes to ensure reduction of accruals and aged debt
Commercial Delivery:
Successfully deliver contract negotiations (Self Serve) and JBP’s (where applicable) Develop a deep knowledge of the i2c business and capabilities in order to confidently manage client relationships and drive profitable solutions that meet annual client targets Ensuring successful management of all i2c activity across your client base in line with client budgets, objectives and deadlines Commercial channel ownership (where applicable) Client Development:
Instilling a ‘customer first’ ethos within the team (and extended team) Development and delivery of strategic and tactical account plans to meet business targets Develop a deep knowledge of the Clients businesses in order to both, identify and implement opportunities and mitigate risks Leveraging existing customer networks and proactively building senior contact strategies to drive relationship and new opportunities for growth forward Research/monitor industry trends and related competitive threats, assess new market opportunities as appropriate to i2c and its key FMCG Suppliers
People Development:
Embody the company ‘PASSION’ values, working in partnership with i2c commercial and delivery functions, Aimia, Sainsbury’s and 3rd parties (where appropriate) to deliver client/business objectives Ensure each member of the team has a development plan to support personal growth and succession planning Manage appraisal process in a timely manner Provide coaching and training as appropriate
Brand Ambassador for i2c:
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Ability to communicate i2c vision and be fully conversant in the benefits and USP of all i2c services
REQUIREMENTS:
University degree – ideally with MBA/postgraduate qualification (marketing major desired); or equivalent business experience Significant experience in a Business Development role from an Agency, Consultancy or FMCG environment Experience of Insight tools & services, targeted and store communications (with focus on retail accounts) Preferred experience in digital marketing practices as well as media evaluation Extensive experience in line management required Excellent project management/communication/presentation skills, well organised with attention to detail Ability to manage suppliers at peer level and above; proven negotiation skills, articulate and confident Self-motivated with an understanding of analytics and the creative development process Experience of working to monthly targets across multiple channels and financial management High energy, proactive and a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
